electronic signatures

Electronic or digital signatures refer to the use of cryptographic methods to uniquely identify sender(s) or "signer(s)" of a digital file. In general, the "signing" process for each entity is unique -- that is, it can only be performed by one person or organization -- but verification of the signature can be accomplished by anyone.
